Ingrained on the brain

All my blogs in November are part of NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month, a challenge to post a blog everyday for the whole month. I’m taking part in this with my friend Amy – check out her blog here!

We went to a funeral this morning; a close family friend of hubby’s and someone I used to socialise with a lot about 10 years ago and have seen every so often since. Such a lovely man, he will be truly missed.

Towards the end of the service, everyone took part in The Lord’s Prayer, and it struck me how everyone knew it off by heart, no need for the order of service, myself included. Yet if you’d asked me an hour before to recite it, I probably would have struggled a little.

I wonder what other things in life we learn, that get pushed back to a dark corner of our minds until required. Certainly song lyrics…I am often surprised at the amount of cheesy song lyrics my husband I can recall!
